Summer Global Health Trips

This summer will be an exciting time for UTHSCSA students as many of them travel to foreign countries to gain medical and volunteer experience. Several of the many countries being visited by UTHSCSA students this summer include Nepal, Ethiopia, and Spain. We have a large network of opportunities for students to volunteer and observe in hospitals in foreign countries including the following: Mexico (Mexico City), Gautemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Colombia, Peru, Dominican Republic, and Ethiopia. These are all countries that our students and faculty have visited previously and set up lasting connections with doctors and hospitals. If you have any contacts overseas that you would like to include, please contact me at c3global@gmail.com

Upcoming Spring Break Trips

Now is an exciting time for Global Health at UTHSCSA. The medical school is currently preparing to send over 35 students abroad for Spring Break. We have seperate groups of first and second year students traveling to Mexico City (Hospital General Gea Gonzalez), Dominican Republic (Hospital Infantil Robert Reid Cabral), Nicaragua (Hospital Regional Regional de Carazo en Jinotepe), and Peru (Clinicas Ricardo Palma en Lima). Hopefully these programs will only grow and expand with the years. These trips are completely student organized and initaited, but have recieved tremendous support from the administration and Student Affairs office.
